Role and Responsibilities
The QA Engineer will be responsible for testing our software products for defects by referring to the development documentation, understanding the application functionality, creating test cases, testing the platform and reporting defects and suggesting improvements.
- Use bug tracking system to report defects to software developers
- Determine, analyze and record problems with program function, output, online screen or content
- Write clear, concise detail oriented test plans and test cases
- Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results
- Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management
- Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements
- Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes
- Document the entire quality testing process
- Describe the program, evaluation, methods of testing and improvements made to the software
- Provide and process information in response to customer (support) inquiries, concerns, and requests about products and services
- Gather customer’s information and determine the issue by evaluating and analyzing the symptoms
- Analyzing support logs so you can spot common trends and underlying problems
- Updating self-help documents so customers can try to fix problems themselves
- Ability to understand and create test plans from specifications or verbal communications
- Liaison with development, project management, and customer support

Qualifications Sought
- Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of software testing experience required
- Graduate degree required
- 2+ years enterprise or e-business systems experience preferred
- Experience with Jira is a huge bonus
- ISTQB certification is a huge bonus
- Expertise in database testing in MySQL Server environments including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procs, jobs, triggers and replication is a HUGE bonus
