Job Description
Vice President – Operations will aim at designing policies, overseeing customer service and implementing technology solutions at large. They are expected to be a responsible leader with an analytical and strategic mind and have a broad knowledge of the business. Ultimately, they will ensure smooth running of the operations and people productivity.
Responsibilities
- Design policies that align with the overall company strategy
- Implement efficient processes and standards
- Coordinate customer service operations and find ways to ensure customer retention
- Ensure compliance with local and international laws (e.g., data protection)
- Oversee the implementation of technology solutions throughout the organization
- Manage contracts and relations with customers, vendors, partners, and other stakeholders
- Evaluate risk and lead quality assurance efforts
- Oversee expenses and budgeting to help the organization optimize costs and benefits
- Mentor and motivate teams to achieve productivity and engagement
- Report on operational performance and suggest improvements
- Establishes and administers the department’s budget
- Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the CEO and other leadership
- Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management
- Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Interviews, hires, and trains management-level staff in the department
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Required Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience as Head of Operations, Operations Director or similar leadership role
- Familiarity with all business functions including HR, finance, and IT
- Experience with implementing IT systems
- Knowledge of data analytics and reporting
- Good with numbers and financial planning
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and leadership ability
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience and Educational Qualification
- A minimum of 10 years of industry-related experience including three years in senior management required
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration, Engineering, or similar industry-related field required
- A master’s degree would be preferred
