Courseplay Eliminates Boring and Irrelevant Training Content

Share:

At Courseplay we recently released an update that completely overhauled our old cloud-based training platform and added some innovative and convenient new features. One of our big changes was to improve how training programs are created.

The concept is quite straightforward: using ‘add-and-remove’ and ‘drag-and-drop’ functionality to choose which content to use in a course and which to leave out. Creating courses now works in more-or-less the same way as the ‘playlist’ functionality on most popular music players and so should already familiar to the majority of our Course Authors.

We feel it is very important for qualified trainers to be in control of what and how content is used for the training requirements of their organization. It is for this reason that we allow Course Authors to choose exactly which modules to include in a course, allowing the right people to select how the course content should be structured. Whether these courses are then delivered as micro-learning programs or as 3-hour all-encompassing training sessions, the decision is down to the client, not us.

In order to prove comprehension of the training material, we recommend all courses include a short quiz, which refers to the relevant material included in the course. The length and frequency of the quiz can be decided by the training team at the company.

Courses come with additional functionality as well, like a Discussion section, Leaderboards, Certificates, Announcements and various access controls, all of which are optional and can be configured by the Course Author as per their specific requirement.

Generic courseware has a problem of being ‘generic’, but with Courseplay, clients have multiple options to customize how the courses are delivered and how learners can engage with it. Courseplay is designed to change the way training content, whether it may be off-the-shelf or tailor-made, is delivered, with a hope that the old perceptions of training being ‘generic’, ‘boring’ or ‘irrelevant’ will become a thing of the past.
